COVID-19 Update

Last updated 5 January 2021

Here at PlusHeat, we continue to follow the latest government guidance for people working in other people’s homes closely during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic to ensure we are doing our bit to serve and protect our customers, PlusHeat engineers and the general public.

According to the latest government guidancework carried out in people’s homes, for example by tradespeople carrying out repairs and maintenance, can continue but it is important to ensure that Public Health England guidelines, including maintaining a social distance are followed for everyone’s safety.

No work should be carried out in a household which is isolating because one or more household members has coronavirus symptoms or where an individual has been advised to shield – unless it is to remedy a direct risk to the safety of the household.

When working in a household where somebody is clinically vulnerable but has not been asked to shield (for example, the home of someone over 70), prior arrangements should be made to avoid any face-to-face contact, e.g. when answering the door. Anyone carrying out work in people’s homes should be particularly strict about handwashing, coughing and sneezing hygiene, such as covering noses and mouths and disposing of single-use tissues.

(Updated October 2020) Please note that non-essential annual boiler services have now ended for the winter and will recommence between April and September 2021. Existing customers will be contacted during these months when your boiler service is due.

If you would like to book in your service between April and September before you’ve received contact from us, you can do this easily by logging your request online or email support@plusheat.co.uk.

For customers paying monthly, your boiler service will not be carried out within the first three months of your agreement. If you require your boiler service within your first three months, this can be arranged by paying for it upfront. We will reduce the cost of your monthly instalments going forward to reflect this

Our engineers are surveyed when accepting work to ensure they are in good health and have been provided with safety equipment to minimise the risk for all parties.

Please help us take care of all parties by:

  1. – Informing us when reporting an issue if you, or somebody in your property, is clinically vulnerable so that prior arrangements can be made to avoid any face-to-face contact, e.g. when opening the door.
  2. – Maintain a social distance as far as possible.
  3. – Wash your hands for 20 seconds, particularly after coughing, sneezing and blowing your nose.
  4. – Reduce the spread of germs when you cough or sneeze by covering your mouth and nose with a tissue.
  5. – Clean regularly touched objects and surfaces to reduce the risk of passing the infection to other people.
